Feng Bin Academy
In September 2021, we expanded our service to Hualien. We worked with the Digital Opportunity Center and furthered our reach to Ji An, Xiu Lin , Shou Feng , and Feng Bin. Thanks to equipment provided by the DOC, the connection quality is quick and smooth.

However, the teaching experience was actually better than I thought. I did not feel worried and nervous when talking to them. I was able to be aware of whether they understood. Similarly, the students were not too shy to ask questions and were willing to read words and sentences out loud.”

“This time participating in Beyond Horizon’s volunteer activity is interesting. My first class is with 2 first grade kids. From talking with them, I found out that they don’t have English class in rural areas, and they have to stay at school late to take English lessons as they don’t have 3C devices at home. This kind of environment is something that I can never think of, however, these children are still positive and cute. I wish I can keep on helping these kids because it makes me feel a sense of accomplishment.”
