In the summer of 2020, nine volunteers from Kang Chiao International School gathered to serve a local church in Yulin, providing the children there a summer online English tutoring program, offering lessons three times a week throughout the summer break. Originally, the program was supposed to end along with the break. However, all the volunteers found the experience touching and inspiring. Feedback from the children and social workers surprised us by how much our work matters. Recognizing the value and purpose of this volunteering program, we all thought the service was something worth working on throughout the entire school year.
