Nan Hu Elementary School

Our online tutoring sessions between Shanghai YK Pao School and Nan Hu Elementary School faced an immediate challenge brought about by Covid-19. Most of the students are currently having online classes at home. Hopefully, the restriction will soon be lifted, allowing for more students to join our program.

Words from Our Volunteers

“I learned a lot from this teaching activity. Not only did I teach the children, but I also learned how to teach, how to communicate effectively with the children, and how to make the class content more interesting in the process. I learned how hard it is to be a teacher for the first time, and although I was tired, I still found this activity very meaningful. ”

“I benefited a lot from participating in beyond horizon. First of all, I experienced the feeling of being a teacher. At first, I was a bit nervous that the class would be boring, and the student would be unwilling to participate. However, she was focusing carefully on the class and was actively answering questions. Moreover, she completed all the homework I left with good quality , which moved me a lot and gave me a sense of achievement and self-confidence as a teacher. Secondly, during this process, I learned some teaching techniques, such as the way to adjust my teaching space to make sure students can adapt and focus. Because I want to work in the education industry in the future, this teaching is a very valuable experience for me.”
